Dream Rose
28.06.2007 at 12:05 a.m.

"The Rose"

Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower, and you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken, who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dyin' that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love in the spring becomes the rose.

Ash's adaptation of "Desert Rose":

Dream Rose

She dreams of sunshine
After the pour
She dreams of a rainbow
After she wakes up in pain
She dreams of deep red roses
A symbol of passionate love
She dreams of true love
As time runs through her hand

These dreams are locked in a red box
Waiting for the right key
And even in the darkness
They glow in the eyes of a girl's desire,
for it to be unlocked

The girl, delicate like a rose
Under her veils, a secret promise
This flower
When handled with tender care
Emits such charming aroma
That none of the sweet perfume ever compare

The fire burns within her
As she gazes upon her stars
Then closes her eyes
And awaits the intoxicating love of her flame

Beauty
Yet the memory of a withering flower haunts her
Waiting to bloom
She continues her dreams

A fairytale dream
A special Prince Charming
An alluring rose

Until it is hard to tell
Is she a girl, or just a rose.
